Most couples assume the wedding sound vendor will just "handle the ceremony too" with the reception rig. Some venues with separate ceremony spaces work that way; most don't. The ceremony is a different room (or a lawn, or a dock, or the corner of a vineyard), with different acoustic rules, often without venue power, and almost always with a tighter timeline than the reception.
