There are two kinds of people. The first thinks a Gigbar and two random speakers is "good enough" for a wedding. The second cares how the night looks, how it sounds, and whether anyone trips on a cable. SoundMN is built for the second group.

We're a Minneapolis-based rental and production team — sound systems, event lighting, DJ services, and atmospheric effects for weddings, corporate events, and private parties across Minnesota. Our priority is quality, not the fastest yes. More speakers does not mean better sound. What actually matters is how they're placed in your specific room, how they're tuned for that space, and whether someone is paying attention when something starts to drift mid-event.

Every booking includes free delivery and professional setup within 20 miles of the Twin Cities, an on-site sound check before guests arrive, and post-event pickup. We don't offer self-pickup, and that's a deliberate choice. A pro 12" powered speaker weighs around 40 lbs. An 18" subwoofer weighs 70 to 100 lbs depending on the model. Loading, unloading, positioning, running cables through a mixer, setting gain stages correctly, and running a real sound check is not "plug it in and go" — and we've seen too many DIY setups peak at the wrong frequency, run distorted during the first dance, or trip a breaker during the toast. So we handle it ourselves and stand behind it.

Equipment matters, but what really shows up at your event is judgment. We've run hotel ballrooms across Bloomington and Edina, Minnetonka Pride, the Woodbury Firefighter Challenge, ice shows at Albert Lea Ice Arena, live-band concerts in Faribault, and high school and college sports events across Minneapolis and St. Paul — plus the weddings, ceremonies, and corporate events between them. Every room behaves differently, and we tune for your actual space, not for a catalog photo.

If you want a vendor that gives you a flat "yeah, we do everything" without naming a single piece of gear, that's fine — there are several. We're not them. Below are the six services we offer. Most weddings book a combination (speakers + microphones + lighting is the typical package), but each service can be booked on its own.
